Updated April 16: The first two StorySlam competitions at Skinny Pancake were sold out events, and testament to the incredible storytellers we have here in Vermont!

We've received a few questions about how to get tickets. They are available directly from The Moth's website, and they generally go on sale one week before the event.

All the stories are being recorded for possible broadcast or feature on The Moth's You Tube channel.

We want to assure our supporters that VPR's online donation page is safe from the Heartbleed Bug, an online security vulnerability.

We use Blackbaud Payment Service, Blackbaud Merchant Services, and Netcommunity to process our membership payments. Last week our vendor assured us that all sites remain secure and your personal information has not been compromised.

We recently published our 2013 Annual Report, which includes financial information, photos, and a look at VPR's impact in the community, thanks to the help of loyal members and listeners like you.  You can download VPR’s 2013 Annual Report here. Thanks so much for listening to and supporting VPR!

Update for April 4: WOXM is back on the air, now at 89.1 FM. Thank you for your patience!

We are happy to announce that VPR Classical’s Middlebury station, WOXM 90.1 FM, will move to 89.1 FM in early April. This change will allow us to increase the station’s power and double the population served from 49,000 to 100,000 Vermonters.

VPR has been named as one of the 2014 Best Places to Work in Vermont by Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.

It's the second year VPR has been named to the list, in a program designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Vermont.

We've heard several reports over the last week from listeners having a hard time receiving VPR Classical at 95.1 from Sunderland/Manchester.

This past week we checked all of the equipment at our transmitter site. All of the equipment appears to be working fine and we are broadcasting at full power. We are now looking into other possible issues including some sort of local interference or antenna problems.

The ultimate battle for supremacy is here: who is the greatest and most dominant personality in all of public media? Who will reign supreme as the King or Queen of Public Media? Terry Gross? Mister Rogers? The Dowager Countess? Ira Glass?

Vote for your favorites each week in public media’s answer to March Madness from our friends at WHYY in Philadelphia!

VPR's Citizens Of The World Tours will venture to Morocco June 11-19, 2014. Host Steve Zind offered his thoughts about why he's looking forward to traveling with you:

UPDATE FOR 2/28/14:

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback about the VPR Classical restructuring. Hearing your comments reminds us how important a responsibility we have to our listeners and supporters. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously, and we carefully consider any change we make to our programming. Again, this was a very difficult decision for VPR and not one we made lightly.

Montpelier translators 94.1 (VPR News) and 99.5 (VPR Classical) are off the air due to technical problems at the site. It is expected to take all week to correct the issues.

Updated 2/17/14: Both stations are back on the air as of Monday afternoon.

The broadcasts on our other news and classical stations are not affected and you can stream online and mobile as well.

Over the last several years, VPR has been working to improve energy consumption at our historic 19th-century headquarters, located in Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester. Our efforts are being presented as a case study this week as part of the Better Buildings By Design conference in Burlington, hosted by Efficiency Vermont.

We began in 2008 with lighting projects, which yielded far greater savings than we ever imagined: 25,000 kilowatt hours per year.

House lawmakers gave final approval to a wide-ranging gun bill Tuesday night. The legislation heads now to the Vermont Senate, which is expected to hold a final vote before the end of the week.
