Robert Resnik

Host, All The Traditions

Robert is not a native Vermonter (although his mother’s family arrived in Burlington in the 1890s), but he has been a part of the local acoustic music scene for more than 35 years. He joined VPR in 1996 as host of All the Traditions.

He plays all variety of stringed and wind instruments and he claims to be chronically addicted to everything concerning the button accordion and the hurdy gurdy.

Robert writes music reviews for local papers, serves as a program consultant for a variety of area concert venues, and is well-known in northern Vermont as a wild mushroom hunter and chef. That's all in his free time. Robert retired in May 2018 after 28 years as a librarian at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington, plays music in public and in private , and is the author of a book that was published by Arcadia Publishing in July 2013 entitled Legendary Locals of Burlington, Vermont.
