The Vermont Legislature on January 9, the first day of the 2013 session.

The first year of the new legislative session starts this week and it promises to be an interesting one. The Republican Party gained a couple of seats, and Gov. Peter Shumlin announced that he no longer shares the Progressive Party's priority for single-payer health care this year.

We'll discuss the legislative priorities for 2015 with Joe Benning, a Republican senator representing Caledonia, and Heidi Scheuermann, a Republican representative from Stowe.

We'll also hear from Chris Pearson, a Progressive member of the House from Burlington, and Progressive Chittenden County Sen. David Zuckerman.

And finally today, we'll get the latest version of our Dorothy's List series. This time we'll hear about Golden Boy by Tara Sullivan.

Broadcast live on Monday, Jan. 5 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
