The U.S. Geological Survey says there was a minor earthquake in the Upper Valley Wednesday night.
According to the USGS website the 2.3 magnitude tremor hit about 5 kilometers west of White River Junction around 11:30 p.m.
The federal agency maintains an interactive website where people can report their experience. As of 7:30 a.m., 54 people had logged in to say they felt the earth shake.

The USGS says smaller earthquakes are felt throughout New England a few times every year, and the region experiences moderately damaging earthquakes every few decades.
