Analysis: Prospects Of A Possible FairPoint Sale

There have long been rumblings of a possible sale of FairPoint Communications, Vermont’s primary telephone and Internet service provider. Last week, speculation was heightened when FairPoint’s CEO, Paul Sunu, told investors and industry analysts that the company “must consider mergers and acquisitions as either a seller or buyer as part of our overall strategy.”

VPR's Steve Zind, who has been covering FairPoint throughout the year, joined Vermont Edition to talk about the prospects of a FairPoint sale.

Patti is an integral part of VPR's news effort and part of the team that created Vermont Edition. As executive producer, Patti supervises the team that puts Vermont Edition on the air every day, working with producers to select and research show ideas, select guests and develop the sound and tone of the program.
