ANESU Board Begins Search For Acting Superintendent

The board of the Addison Northeast Supervisory Union is beginning the search for an "acting" superintendent.

In a statement, the board said Assistant Superintendent Katrina DiNapoli will take responsibility for all of the duties of Superintendent David Adams while the search is ongoing. The board says Adams is on leave under the Family Medical Leave Act.

The board says: "These actions will allow the supervisory union and its member districts to move forward with the challenging work they face."

In the spring, the district's teachers union voted "no confidence" in Adams' leadership. Over the summer the supervisory union's executive board asked a federal mediator to assess the working relationships within the schools. The board and the teachers' union plan to continue to work with the mediator on a training program to establish effective communication.

Addison Northeast serves six schools in Bristol, Monkton, Starksboro, Lincoln and New Haven, including Mt. Abraham Union High School.
