Two local Art Hounds called our VPR Art Hounds hotline to rave about this weekend's Cherry Street Artisans' Event in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Kelly Therieux and Steve Lloyd both urged VPR listeners not to miss holiday shopping in the most local of ways at this sale, held in a Victorian home in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Featured artists sell everything from knitted scarves to stone wear pottery to blown-glass ornaments (pictured) from Josh and Marta Bernbaum.

The 5th annual holiday sale and cafe runs Saturday, December 1st from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m., and Sunday, December 2nd from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Ted Schiffman of Haverhill, New Hampshire, suggested folk musician John Gorka, who is performing at Alumni Hall on Sunday, December 2nd at 7:30. For tickets, go here.

Linda Ramsdell, owner of The Galaxy Bookshop in Hardwick, Vermont, recommends DavidBudbill's play, Two For Christmas returns to stages in Montpelier, Hardwick and Burlington.

Neal Charnoff spoke with David Budbill about this play. Listen here.
