Art Hounds: Book Launch, Open Studios And The Beautiful Side Of Decay

This week, our art hounds have recommended a book launch party in Burlington, open studios in Brattleboro, a concert in Stowe and much more.

Friday, September 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burlington City Arts in Burlington: Book launch party for writer Jericho Parms’ latest work Lost Wax, a collection of essays that examine the way life, art and memory intersect, suggested by Joshua Sevits from East Calais.

Friday, September 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Montgomery Center: The Montgomery Center Fall Arts Event with local artists displaying works continues on Saturday, October 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., suggested by Lynn Locher of Montgomery.

Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2 and October 8 and 9 in Brattleboro: Open Studios Weekend featuring the works of artists from Brattleboro-West Arts and Artists of Marlboro groups, recommended by Mara Williams of Brattleboro.

Saturday, October 1 from 6 to 11 p.m., S.P.A.C.E. Gallery in Burlington: Kick-off party for The Art of Horror, a gallery full of dark art representing the beautiful side of decay, which runs through October, suggested by Melaney Pettini from Huntington.

Saturday, October 1 at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe: Local singer Francesca Blanchard in concert, suggested by Kristina von Trapp Frame.

Through November 26 at Amy E. Tarrant Gallery in Burlington: Director’s Digressions, featuring artwork by two prominent arts leaders, Janie Cohen from Fleming Museum of Art and Sara Katz from Burlington City Arts, recommended by Aileen Lachs from Burlington.
