Art Hounds: Open Studios, Bluegrass And Storytelling

This piece of pottery was created by artist Bruce Murray of Bradford. His works are part of the Vermont North By Hand open studios tour this weekend.

More studios are open this weekend, plus hear local storytelling, see a craft show and hear some bluegrass among the foliage.

Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Twigg's American Gastropub in St. Albans:Tell It At Twigg’s, storytelling night a la The Moth Story Hour with local amateur storytellers.

Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Meetinghouse On The Green in East Fairfield: The Somewhat Lonesome Mountain Boys in concert with bluegrass musicians suggested by James Eichelberger of East Fairfield.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7, 8 and 9 at The Kent Museum in Calais:"Parables" by artists Julia Zanes and Donald Saaf with paintings, sculpture and marionettes, suggested by Adelaide Tyrol from Plainfield.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7, 8 and 9 at Weston Playhouse in Weston:33rd Annual Weston Craft Show in Weston Playhouse recommended by Diane Bell from Weston. 

Saturday, Oct. 8 at 8:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Montpelier: The Third Annual Play-A-Thon, featuring the three orchestras that make up The Green Mountain Youth Symphony featuring young performers playing seven hours of continuous live music, suggested by Gordon Bock of Northfield.

Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m in the Upper Valley: Vermont North By Hand open studios tour in Bradford, Corinth, Newbury, Vershire, Norwich and Topsham suggested by Robert Rinaldi, Jr. from Topsham.
