This week, our Art Hounds hotline was abuzz with at least eight different recommendations for the same event: The Cherry Street Artisans two-day event this weekend in Brattleboro.
Shop for local and handmade artists' creations in the Victorian home of artist Judy Zemel with live music and food on Saturday, December 7th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 8th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gordon Bock suggested the Green Mountain Youth Symphony's repertory, concert and senior orchestra concerts Saturday, December 14th at the Barre Opera House. The symphony is comprised of a community of young musicians from northern and central Vermont.
Musician Peg Tassey suggested the closing ceremony for the held-over photographic exhibit, "Rural Revolution" this Saturday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m., at Goddard College. That same evening, the group,35th Parallel, will play a concert at the Goddard College Haybarn at 8 p.m.
Painter Kathleen Kolb recommends a visit to Bristol's Walkover Gallery to take in the works of painter John Gemignani. The exhibit is "Paintings Outside the Lines," and he will give an artist's talk on Thursday, December 12th at 6 p.m.
Rachelle Ackerman wrote in with a suggestion for The Cotton Mill's 15th Annual Open Studio and Sale this weekend in Brattleboro.
On Sunday, December 8th at 1:30 p.m., members of the Parish Players and the Thetford Historical Society will be joined by local musicians in a remembrance, reading and wreath-laying to honor famed abolitionist Alanson Sanborn. Find out more here.
