Baseball Update: Who's Got The Arms For The Home Stretch?

Ric Cengeri
/
VPR
The Red Sox got off to a good start this season, but they swooned in June.

To be successful over a 162-game major league baseball season, you've got to have a deep pitching staff. Without the arms, a strong start can come undone.

We assess the season so far and look at who has the best chance heading into the All-Star break and for the rest of the season.

Our baseball experts, Burlington Representative Kurt Wright (a staunch Yankees supporter) and VPR's Mitch Wertlieb (who loves the Red Sox), share their knowledge, make predictions, and offer suggestions on how their teams can win it all this year.

Plus, CBC Montreal News Sports Reporter Doug Gelevan provides an update on Montreal's push to get major league baseball back in the city.

Broadcast live on Friday, July 1, 2016, at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
Bob Kinzel has been covering the Vermont Statehouse since 1981 — longer than any continuously serving member of the Legislature. With his wealth of institutional knowledge, he answers your questions on our series, "Ask Bob."
