Bringing In The New

Big Maybelle...one of the architects of rock n' roll

Welcoming in 2016 with some of the great blueswomen, a sample of upcomiing live shows in our area, and a dedication to revered Scottish singer Andy M. Stewart, who passed on earlier this week.

This program will air on Sunday January 3rd from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Pete’s Posse will be performing for the Burnham Music Series at Burnham Hall in Lincoln on Saturday, January 9th.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. 

Burlington musical icon Tim McKenzie with special guests Jim McGinniss and Clare Doyle will perform at Juniper at the Hotel Vermont on Friday January 8th beginning at 9 p.m.

Colin McCaffrey & Lewis Franco will perform at Bagitos in Montpelier on Thursday January 7th from 6 – 8 p.m.

The Vermont band Frost and Fire will provide the music for a tree burning ceremony that will be held on Saturday January 9th at a house concert in Shelburne.  For more information please contact Alison at alisonjamesvt@gmail.com 

The Village Harmony Alumni Ensemble, led by Larry Gordon and Gideon Crevoshay, present a lively concert in Tinmouth on Tuesday, January 5th at 7 p.m. at the Tinmouth Community Church on Route 140.

Woods Tea Company, featuring Patti Casey and Pete Sutherland, will return to Bennington's Meetinghouse Café at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 10. The Café is at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 108 School St. in Bennington.

 
There will be a contra dance at the Tunbridge Town Hall on Friday January 8th beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Live music will be provided by Bonnie Tucker and Donna Weston.   New dancers are always welcome.
 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
