Fraternities have been in the news again with stories of branding members, singing racist songs and date rape. It has led some to question the future of Greek organizations on campuses.
We'll speak with Dr. David Landers, an instructor of psychology and gender studies at St. Michael's College, about how frats fit into the social fabric of a school in 2015, how schools police their activities and what the future holds for these Greek organizations.
We also check in with Dartmouth College alumnus Robert Hager, Williams College President Emeritus John Chandler and UVM Associate Director of Student Life Dani Comey.
Post your questions or comments about fraternities and sororities here or email them to vermontedition@vpr.net.
Also on the program, we hear another installment of Dorothy's List. This month we go to Brownington Central School, where eighth graders in Kyle Chadburn’s Humanities class have been reading Prisoner 88, an historical fiction by Leah Pileggi.
Broadcast live on Monday, April 6, 2015 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
