An annual fderal report was recently released that tracks food security trends across the country.

A new report on hunger shows that Vermont's overall rate of food insecurity in improving, but advocates are concerned that that good news doesn't extend to seniors.

The 2015 USDA Household Food Security report says Vermont’s food insecurity numbers moved from 1 in 8 Vermonters experiencing food insecurity, to 1 in 10.  But the trend is worsening for Vermont seniors who face food insecurity. We look at the issue with Marissa Parisi, executive director of Hunger Free Vermont, and Linda Deliduka, who serves on the Governor’s Poverty Council.

Also in the program, Scott Davidson, chief of the Governor's Highway Safety Program. We ask why there are more traffic fatalities and what's been done to address the problem.

Broadcast on Thursday, September 22, 2016 live at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
