The Cambridge village of Jeffersonville is asking water customers to conserve water until further notice. The spring-fed system is running low due to drought conditions.
A notice distributed by the Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security says a water shortage is imminent in Jeffersonville. No other municipal water systems have reported issues to the state.
The village is specifically asking customers to take short showers, check for leaky faucets and pipes, and only run full loads in dishwashers and washing machines.
The utility also suggested using swimming pool water for flushing toilets and cleaning.
