Update, 7/26/14: While there is a chance of rain in the forecast, the site has a large pavilion for cover as well as the gallery in the barn and restaurant.
This year's VPR Listener Picnic is on Sunday, July 27 from 11-2 at Lareau Farm, home of American Flatbread, in Waitsfield. Admission to the picnic is free and we'll be there rain or shine.
The picnic site is on Route 100, 1.7 miles south of Bridge Street in downtown Waitsfield. It is handicap accessible, well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome and cash is recommended for food vendors and t-shirt sales. We'll be selling the new VPR t-shirt, designed by Randolph 5th grader Mikaela Luke-Currier, for just $10!
Storyteller Willem Lange will be our special guest – but he won’t be the only one telling stories! We’re hosting our own Moth-style story slam around the theme, “You Know You Live In Vermont When…" Prepare your funniest 5-minute story about a Vermont experience to share on stage! Storytellers should plan to get to the picnic by 11:30 to make sure they get their names in the hat. We'll have time for up to 6 storytellers. For storytelling tips visit TheMoth.org.
You'll have the chance to meet all your favorite VPR hosts and reporters, and enjoy music by the Starline Rhythm Boys, All The Traditions Host Robert Resnik and Barbara Wager.
We’ll have food for sale from American Flatbread and other vendors, and picnic lunches are welcome, as well. Check back here for more information as details become available, and RSVP to this event on Facebook!
Hope to see you there!
