The Many Live Shows Of Early November

Vermont musical wunderkind Patrick Ross, one of many local and not-so local musicians playing in our area this week!

House concerts, bluegrass jamborees, Cajun dance parties....the VPR listening area will be rich with many varieties of live music this week, and we do our best to preview it all !

This program will air on Sunday November 2nd from 7-10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

On Sunday November 9th at 3 p.m., Pappy Biondo and Patrick Ross will perform at 48 Main in Bradford.  Pappy and Patrick Ross (fiddle, viola, cello, tenor banjo, voice) will create an environment of studio quality entertainment off the cuff as they weave in and out of melodies moving, twisting, weird, tranquil, breakneck, calm, loud, flowing and in tune.  Pappy is on the national circuit all the time, so this is a rare chance to hear him wow on the banjo.   Only 55 tickets are for sale.  www.patrickrossmusic.com

Mavis Staples will perform at the Bellows Falls Opera House, In the Rockingham Town Hall on
Friday, November 7th at 7:30 p.m. This concert will benefit Windham & Windsor Housing Trust

Tracy Grammer will perform on Saturday, November 8th at the Tunbridge Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The Dave Keller Band will be performing for the Burnham Music Series at Burnham Hall, 52 River Rd. in Lincoln, on Saturday, November 8th  at 7 p.m.

The Palmer St. Coffeehouse in Plattsburgh presents Roy Hurd and Jeff Rendinaro on Friday November 7th at 7:30 p.m. Doors at 7.

Green Mountain Playboys play Cajun Dance Party at Skinny Pancake in Burlington on Tuesday, November 4th at 8 p.m. 

Songwriter Peter Mayer will be performing at the St. James Church Parish Hall in Greenfield, MA on Saturday November 8th at 7p.m.

Cabot Arts opens its second concert season with “Blues in the Afternoon” featuring three fine musicians at the Cabot Town Hall – Martin Grosswendt, William Lee Ellis and Michael Taub – Sunday, November 9th at 3:00 p.m.  In addition, Martin will be joined by his singing partner Susanne Salem-Schatz. Martin Grosswendt will also be the featured performer at the Good Times Café in Hinesburg on Saturday November 8th.

Phil Henry and Gary Moon will perform at Shelburne Vineyards on Thursday November 6th at 6 p.m.

On Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m.  Skip Gorman and Connie Dover will perform in an intimate house concert venue at the home of Valerie and Mike Daniel in Bethel.  For reservations or information please  call Beth at802-728-6351

PossumHaw will be performing at Cafe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Friday, November 7.

Swing Noire will play at Brandon Music , 62 Country Club Rd. in Brandon, on n Saturday, November 8th at 7:30 p.m.

Annie and the Hedonists returns to Bennington's Meetinghouse Cafe at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 7th.

Cormac McCarthy will be playing at the Canoe Club in Hanover, NH on Friday November 7th at 7 p.m.

The Social Band will present a series of Fall choral concerts at the Richmond Free Library on Saturday, November 8th at 7:30 p.m. and at the Charlotte Congregational Church on Sunday November 9th at 3 p.m.

The Dupont Brothers will perform in the Esther Mesh Room at the Chandler in Randolph Friday November 7th. 

On Saturday, November 8th Paul Asbell performs at the Adamant Community Club. The music will start at 7 p.m. with an optional potluck starting at 5:30 before the show. 

Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing and the Modern Grass Quintet will be featured performers at a concert at the VT College of Fine Arts in  Montpelier on Saturday November 8th at 8 p.m.

 On November 5 at 7:30 PM the Steep Canyon Rangers will perform at The Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, NH

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
