Hank Williams and the Drifting Cowboys

Live performances in gazebos, on village greens, and in festivals near and far, remembering one of Mary McCaslin's classic albums on Philo Records, and a doff of the cowboy hat to Hank Williams, one of America's great songwriters.

This program will air on Sunday, July 19th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Roosevelt Dime will perform at Nectar’s in Burlington on Thursday July 23rd at 10 p.m., and on Saturday July 25th at the Rusty Nail in Stowe at 9 p.m.

Jeremiah McLane has a brand new CD out, and will perform with Sarah Blair and Tim Cummings on Tuesday July 21st as part of the Concert on the Green Series in Strafford.  Music begins at 6 p.m.  They will also be performing at the Barre Heritage Festival on Saturday July 25th at 5 p.m.

Pete's Posse's official CD Release Party for their new CD Down To The Core will happen on  Friday July 24th at the Mad Robin Callers' Collective's monthly contradance, held at the 1st Congregational Church on So. Winooski Avenue in Burlington from 8-11 (with a beginner lesson at 7:30).

Rick Norcross and his Ramblers will perform at Lamoille County Field Days in Johnson on Friday July 24th at 8 p.m.

The acclaimed Celtic music trio Cantrip will be returning to Sunderland for a house concert on North Road on Thursday, July 23rd . To reserve your place at this concert, call the Houghtons(845-304-1572) for directions and to let them know what you’ll bring to the pot luck!

The Good Times Café in Hinesburg presents the Tall Trees, featuring Tim Grimm and Ben Bedford with Diederik va Wassenaeron on Saturday July 25th at 8:30 p.m.

On Tuesday July 21st Bramblewood, featuring Carol Hausner, Danny Coane, and Colin McCaffrey, will perform at the Cabot Public Library at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday July 22nd Village Harmony will perform at the First Church in Jaffrey Center NH at 7:30 p.m.

The Phil Henry Acoustic Trio returns to West Rutland for a free show on the lawn of the Town Hall on Thursday July 23rd at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair!

The Bluegrass Gospel Project will perform for the community concert series in Essex, NY on Friday July 24th at 7 p.m. 

The Inner Fire District will continue its tour of the VPR listening area with shows this weeks at Bread and Butter Farm in Shelburne on Friday July 24that 5 p.m., the Threepenny Taproom in Montpelier on Saturday July 25th at 11 p.m., and at the Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover on Sunday July 26th at 4 p.m.

Counterpoint’s Pete Seeger tribute concert series will hold performances on Friday, July 24th at 8pm at the UU Church at the head of church St. in Burlington, on Saturday July 25th at 8pm at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe, and on Sunday July 26th at 4pm at the Weston Church on the Hill.

The Dave Keller Band will be performing at Gifford Park in Randolph on Tuesday July 21st at 6 p.m., at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne on Wednesday July 22nd at 6:30, and in Waterbury as part of their concert series at 6 p.m. on Thursday July 23rd.

Anna Roberts-Gevalt and Elizabeth LaPrelle will perform at Burlington City Arts on Church St. on Wednesday July 22nd at 6 p..m. with special guest Kaia Kater. 

The Sky Blue Boys will perform in Bethlehem, NH at the town gazebo on Sunday July 26th at 6 p.m.
 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
