Along with our perpetual celebration of local music and musicians, this show features some famous songwriters and their equally amazing children.  And Fats Waller !

This program will air on Sunday January 18th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

There will be a contradance with Cuckoo’s Nest on Saturday, January 24th at 8 p.m. atTracy Hall in Norwich.  Ricky Holt will call, and there will be a walk-through for new dancers at 7:45.  All dances will be taught.  The dance will also be preceded by a Family dance from 5 – 6:30 p.m. with a potluck supper at 6:30.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present Dustbowl Revival, a Venice, California-based roots collective that merges old school bluegrass, gospel, jug-band, swamp blues and the hot swing of the 1930’s, plus the Vermont-based Americana duo Laura Molinelli and Ben Campbell, on Saturday, January 24 at 7:30 pm at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney.

Cormac McCarthy will perform at the Good Times Café in Hinesburg on Saturday January 24th at 8:30 p.m.

Old Songs, Inc. presents its annual Sampler Concert on Saturday, January 24 at 8:00pm at 37 South Main St., in Voorheesville, NY.  A benefit for the 2015 Old Songs Festival, the Sampler features local performers including the New Salem Serenaders, Amanda Fry, George Wilson, Debra Burger & Carole Fults, Drew Jacobs, Set Americain, Bluegrass Banjo Bob Altschuler & Friends along with a huge raffle of quality crafts and recordings, plus a yummy bake sale!

McBride & Lussen will be appearing at Bagitos in Montpelier on Friday January 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m.  

The Colin McCaffrey Country Band will perform at the Whammy Bar in Maple Corners on Friday January 23rd at 7:30 p.m. 

The Dave Keller Band will be performing at Sweet Melissa’s in Montpelier on Friday January 23rd at 9 p.m.

Local Legends, an Evening of Acoustic Music to benefit Responsible Growth Hinesburg, will be held at the Champlain Valley Union H.S. Auditorium in Hinesburg on Friday, January 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  Featured musicians include Nate Gusakov and Robinson Morse, Fadhili with Niel Maurer, and Jaime Masefield, Doug Perkins, Tyler Bolles, and Jon Fishman.

Caitlin Canty will perform at the West Rutland Town Hall Theater on Saturday January 24th at 7 p.m.

Vermont singer-songwriter Josh Brooks invites you to help him celebrate the release of tall tales, his first album in six years, at 'A Quiet Evening with Josh Brooks' on Jan. 24th at the Bixby Memorial Library in Vergennes.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8.

Michael Jerome Brown will perform at Petit Campus, 57 Prince Arthur E. in Montreal on Saturday January 24th 
 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
