New Releases, And Songs For Labor Day Weekend

A wealth of recently received recordings, some tasty classics, a few sets of some of the best labor songs ever, plus lots and lots of local  music !

This program will air on Sunday September 4th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

They Might Be Gypsies will be performing at 51 Main in Middlebury on Saturday September 10th at 8 p.m.

The Sky Blue Boys, Dan and Willy Lindner, will be playing at Bread and Butter Farm in Shelburne on Friday September 9th beginning at 5 p.m. and on Sunday September 11th at the Skinny Pancake in Burlington from noon to 3 p.m. with Clyde Staats joining them on bass.

Kelly Ravin and Lowell Thompson will perform at the Burnham Music Series, 52 River Rd. in Lincoln on Saturday, September 10th at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Woodchuck’s Revenge will be playing at the Ludlow Farmer’s Market on Friday September 9th at 4 p.m.

Patti Casey and Susannah Blachly will be playing at the Montpelier Farmer’s Market on Saturday September 10th from 9-1 p.m.

The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe presents Alan Doyle and the Beautiful Gypsies on Thursday September 8th at 8 p.m.

There will be contra dance in Tracy Hall in Norwich on Saturday September 10th from 8-11 p.m. with David Millstone calling and with a band led by Cedar Stanistreet.  Everyone is welcome – no partner or experience necessary.  Regular dance starts at 8.  Newcomers may arrive at 7:45 for a walk-through.  Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.

Iris Dement will be performing at the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph on Saturday September 10th. 

The Vermont band Kick ‘em Jenny will be playing old-time stringband music at the Whammy Bar in Calais on Thursday September 8th from 7-9 p.m.
