Vermont's Federal Emergency Management Agency office is closing after more than two years of helping the state recover from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene. The Vermont Foodbank says it needs to raise $1 million by the end of the year to make its budget. The organization that oversees Vermont's snowmobile trails has initiated construction on a 15-mile stretch of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail between St. Johnsbury and West Danville. Guildford woman has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to a charge of wire fraud in taking money from a Brattleboro law firm.
