Open Door Clinic Ends Rides For Migrant Workers

Aug 14, 2015

Changes at a clinic in Middlebury have some concerned that migrant workers could lose access to medical care.

The Open Door clinic has stopped coordinating rides for migrant workers to get to their medical appointments. However the clinic has provided lists of volunteer drivers and translators for Addison county's estimated 500 migrant workers.

And clinic officials, along with Addison County Transit, have applied for a grant to eventually re-establish the coordinated ride program.

VPR's Mary Carol Maganzini spoke with reporter John Flowers from the Addison Independent about the issue.
