There are about 30 shooting ranges in Vermont where hunters can practice their shooting skills before hitting the woods for any of Vermont’s hunting seasons.
For the past few years, these clubs, most of which are private, have been eligible for federal grants to improve both their safety and their environmental impact. Chris Saunders is with the state’s Hunter Education Program. He spoke with Vermont Edition about the safety and environmental impact of the state’s shooting ranges.
