The State Of The State's GOP

Republicans saw an increase in their ranks in the Statehouse for this session.

Election day in November brought welcome news for state Republicans. They gained nine seats in the House and two in the Senate. In addition, Scott Milne came close to wresting the governorship from Peter Shumlin and Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott was easily re-elected.
We speak with Vermont Republicans Chair David Sunderland and House Minority Leader Don Turner of Milton about how that momentum is playing in this legislative session and what priorities the party has for the rest of the biennium.

Post your questions or comments about the direction of the state's Republican party here or email them to vermontedition@vpr.net.

Also on the program, as part of a six-week photography workshop, a group of young women from Vermont ventured north to Montreal to shoot the city, but more importantly to build confidence through the creative process. We visit the exhibit, titled "Through Our Lens," which is on display at the River Arts community art center in Morrisville through March 2.

Plus, we dip into our virtual mailbag for your comments.

Broadcast live on Wed., Feb. 25, 2015, at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
