Celebrating the "Nobelification" of one of America's greatest musical poets,  and touching many bases with a wealth of live music in the VPR listening area this week!

This program will air on Sunday October 23rd from 7 -10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Bagitos in Montpelier presents an Irish music session on Saturday October 29th from 2-5pm featuring  Sarah Blair, Hilari Farrington, Benedict Koehler, Katrina VanTyne, Bob Ryan, and many other talented traditional Irish musicians. 

Annemieke and Jeremiah McLane will perform at a house concert in East Montpelier on Saturday October 29th at 7 p.m.
The concert will be held at the Home of Tracy Loysen and Rob Duncan, 2809 North St. For reservations and directions, contact Tracy at802-223-1234 ortaloysen@aol.com
 
Archie Fisher will be performing at a house concert in Shelburne on Thursday October 27th. The address is 338 Thompson Road, Shelburne, and reservations are required: 802 985-1214

Mystery Café, a group consisting of Jeremiah McLane, Sarah Blair, Owen Marshall, and Tim Cummings,  will perform on Sunday October 30th at 4 p.m. at Gethsemane Church on Depot St. in Proctorsville

The Bluegrass Pioneers - Dan and Willy Lindner and Danny Coane - will play at the Whammy Bar in Calais on Friday October 28th at 7:30 p.m. and at the Jericho Café and Tavern on Saturday October 29th from 7-10 p.m.

Banjo Dan and Willy Lindner will be performing as the Sky Blue Boys at  St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Springfield on Sunday October 30th at 4 p.m.

Willa Mamet and Paul Miller will be playing one more show in the VPR listening area this time around before Willa heads back the west coast:  The gig is at the Stowe St. Café in Waterbury on Thursday October 27th – music begins around 6 p.m.

Addison County piper Tim Cummings will be performing with Pete Sutherland on Saturday, October 29th at the Brandon Music Café from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Greg Brown will be performing at the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph on Friday October 28th 

Higher Ground in South Burlington presents Railroad Earth on Thursday October 27th and Toots and the Maytals on Saturday October 29th.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
