"We lost," Republican businessman Bruce Lisman said from a podium at the Hilton in Burlington. Lisman expressed pride in his campaign, noting that he forced Scott to talk about important issues facing Vermonters. He said he was thankful for the friendship, support and advice he received throughout the campaign.

At ArtsRiot in Burlington's South End, Democrat Matt Dunne thanked supporters after he called Minter to concede.

Minter compared the primary battle with Dunne and Peter Galbraith to a "tussle" with brothers, adding that after Tuesday, "we are one party." Galbraith conceded just after 10:15 p.m.
