Vermont Shakespeare Company Ready For Seventh Season

Aug 7, 2014

The Vermont Shakespeare Company opens it’s seventh season this weekend with A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In addition to performances at the company’s home base at Knight Point State Park in North Hero, the company will also bring the production to Shelburne Museum and the University of Vermont.

Executive Director John Nagle says the natural backdrop is ideal for Shakespeare, and especially appropriate to convey the magic of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

He says the biggest challenge of performing outdoors (besides mosquitos) is the sound, and getting the actors to project enough for the audience to hear.

For the first time, the company has added performances outdoors at Shelburne Museum, and indoors at UVM's Royal Tyler Theater.
