VPR Is Live From The Statehouse This Week

VPR will be live at the Statehouse this week for the opening of the 2016 legislative session:

Tuesday, January 5Vermont Edition, VPR’s daily news magazine, will broadcast live at noon. Hosts Bob Kinzel and Jane Lindholm will speak with House Speaker Shap Smith, Republican Sen. Joe Benning, Progressive Rep. Chris Pearson, and reporters.

Wednesday, January 6: VPR will provide coverage of early legislative action, including the Senate vote on whether to suspend Franklin County Sen. Norman McAllister until his pending sexual assault criminal charges have been resolved. Follow breaking news at VPR.net and on Twitter @vprnet.

Thursday, January 7: VPR will carry Gov. Peter Shumlin’s State Of The State address live beginning at 2 p.m., and live tweet the speech @vprnet. Follow VPRNews on Snapchat for video updates from the statehouse. The full audio and transcript of the speech will be available at VPR.net.
