We're Fighting Hunger In Vermont. You Can Help.

Aug 18, 2014

What if you could support your public radio station and fight hunger in Vermont at the same time?

For every gift to VPR right now and through our September Membership Drive, Hannaford Supermarkets will donate 10 meals to the Vermont Foodbank.

Well, now you can. Vermont Public Radio has joined forces with the Vermont Foodbank and Hannaford Supermarkets to help our neighbors in need of food assistance.

For every gift to VPR during our September Membership Drive, Hannaford Supermarkets will donate 10 meals to the Vermont Foodbank.

Last year, the Vermont Foodbank distributed more than 8 million pounds of quality food to 153,000 Vermonters. Having a strong and connected community is more essential than ever and this is a great opportunity to benefit two important Vermont institutions at once!

Here’s what to do:

  1. Make a gift now. Your gift now will ensure that VPR continues to serve as the region’s independent source for news, information, music, and cultural programming, but it will also improve the lives of your neighbors, with 10 meals going to the Vermont Foodbank for every contribution to VPR, thanks to Hannaford Supermarkets. Click here to make your gift, or call 1-800-639-6391.
  2. Help spread the word. Challenge your friends, family members, and co-workers to join you in this effort. Click to share or retweet this photo on Facebook and Twitter to show you care about public radio and fighting hunger in Vermont. The more people that know about this special opportunity the better!

About The Vermont Foodbank

Thousands of our neighbors struggle to meet their food needs. Last year, the Vermont Foodbank distributed more than 8 million pounds of quality food to more than 153,000 Vermonters.

Food is gathered from Vermont farms, manufacturers, grocery stores, businesses, individuals, schools, and a national network of food banks.  Food is then distributed with the Foodbank’s fleet of trucks to 270 food shelves, meals sites, shelters, senior centers, and youth programs around Vermont.

The mission of the Vermont Foodbank is to gather and share quality food and nurture partnerships so that no one in Vermont will go hungry.
