In West Windsor, It's Not Too Soon For Fourth Of July Planning

The West Windsor July Fourth Committee has started planning and fundraising for its annual fireworks display.

Spring may be a little late in coming to Vermont, but that hasn't slowed the pace of planning for West Windsor's July Fourth Committee. It takes money to put on an annual Fourth of July celebration like the one West Windsor puts on in Brownsville each year. The fireworks alone will cost $6,500. So the committee is planning a spring event to help pay for their big event in July. They're holding a rummage and bake sale, and are soliciting donated goods.

"Start your spring cleaning now!" a committee announcement states. Donations for the rummage sale should be dropped off Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, April 7-9, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., upstairs at the Brownsville Town Hall. Organizers ask that you not donate large appliances or encyclopedias.

The West Windsor Rummage & Bake Sale takes place Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11. It will be held upstairs in the Brownsville Town Hall, at the corner of Brownsville Hartland Road and Route 44. Sale hours are 9 a.m. until  7 p.m. on Friday and  from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. All items are half-price on Saturday, then from noon until 1 p.m. there will be a bag sale.

Sale proceeds will be split between the Brownsville July Fourth festivities and the West Windsor Fire Department.
