Since the state's registry was established in 2013, 160,000 Vermonters have signed up to be organ donors. Those who have will only become donors under very specific circumstances.
Most potential donors are unaware of what those circumstances are and the policies and procedures that come into play once they're met.
We talk with Bob Opel, an organ recovery coordinator at the University of Vermont Medical Center, the only Vermont hospital that provides organ transplant services.

Also on the program, Ingrid Jonas recently became the first woman in Vermont State Police history to attain the rank of captain. We talk with Captain Jonas about the promotion and what she hopes to accomplish in the areas of recruitment and training.
Broadcast live on Tues., March 17, 2015, at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
