Central VT Chamber Music Festival Live

The Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival gets underway this weekend with a program of Tartini, Rachmaninoff and Smetana in Randolph and Woodstock.  The CVCMF makes its annual visit to the VPR Performance Studio Friday morning for a live preview.

Michael J. Colburn Live

Col. Michael J. Colburn joined the United States Marine Band in 1987. He became its 27th director in 2004.
Staff Sgt. Brian Rust U.S. Marine Band

On July 12, St. Albans native Michael J. Colburn stepped down as director of the United States Marine Band, known as The President's Own. Colburn joined the USMB in 1987 as a euphonium player, quickly becoming principal euphonium. He worked his way up through assistant director positions until he became the 27th director in 2004. He speaks with Walter Parker this morning.

Remembering Conductor Lorin Maazel

Castleton Festival

Conductor Lorin Maazel died Sunday at age 84.  We'll feature some of his recordings Tuesday morning. Cellist Daniel Lelchuk, a native of Hanover, New Hampshire, worked with Maazel at his Castleton Festival in Virginia.  He'll offer his remembrance at 11 a.m.
