Pianists Vassily Primakov and Natalia Lavrova are in residence at Hill and Hollow Music in Saranac, NY, this week.  They visit the VPR Performance Studio to play music for piano 4-hands.

The Green Mountain Opera Festival visits the VPR Performance Studio for a live preview of their upcoming production of Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella).

Momenta Quartet Live

The Momenta Quartet is in-residence at Yellow Barn in Putney this week.  The New York City-based Quartet will visit the VPR Performance Studio on Thursday to play the String Quartet of Claude Debussy.

Heath Quartet Live

The Heath Quartet from Great Britain is in Vermont to perform quartets of Beethoven, Bartok and Mendelssohn Sunday, April 6, at Marlboro College and Wednesday, April 9, at Middlebury College.  They stop by the VPR Performance Studio for a visit.

Vermont Virtuosi Live

Vermont Virtuosi return to the VPR Performance Studio for a preview of their 'Winter Spirits' concerts in Montpelier and Burlington.  Flutist Laurel Ann Mauer, clarinetist Karen Luttik and pianist Claire Black will play music including works by Vermont composers David Gunn and Thomas L. Read, who will be present to introduce their pieces.

Vermont pianist Paul Orgel returns to the VPR Performance Studio to give us a preview of his UVM recital of lesser-known late Romantic works by Ernest Chausson, Josef Suk and Max Reger.

Beatrice Rana Live

Italian pianist Beatrice Rana won the Silver Medal and the Audience Award at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.  She's in Vermont to perform at the UVM Lane Series on Friday.  She joins Walter Parker in the VPR Performance Studio for a preview.

Stile Antico Live

Stile Antico ("antique style") is a distinguished vocal ensemble from Britain specializing in music of the renaissance.  They stop by the VPR Performance Studio Monday afternoon for a preview of concerts they will give in St. Johnsbury on Tuesday and Marlboro on Wednesday.

The Burlington Ensemble, with VPR Classical's Joe Goetz as guest pianist, visits the VPR Performance Studio to play Mozart's Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478, which will be on their programs this week in Rutland, Stowe and Burlington.

Vermont Virtuosi return to the VPR Performance Studio to preview their concerts this weekend in Burlington and Montpelier.  Flutist Laurel Ann Maurer, pianist Claire Black, and guest clarinetist Karen Luttik will play music of Vermont composers David Gunn and Gwyneth Walker plus the Clarinet Sonata of Francis Poulenc.

The Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival pays its annual visit to the VPR Performance Studio.  They'll give us a preview of their first weekend of concerts, including Brahms' Horn Trio, Beethoven's "Eyeglass" Duet, and Five Pieces for 2 Violins and Piano by Shostakovich.

The Burlington Ensemble joins us to perform Felix Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings, written when he was 16 years old.  It's on the BE's programs this week in Vergennes, Richmond, Castleton and Shelburne.

Scrag Mountain Music gives us a live preview of baroque music they'll perform in Stowe, Randolph and Warren, August 3-5.  Artistic Directors soprano Mary Bonhag and double bassist Evan Premo are joined by harpsichordist Lynette Combs and Boston-based violinist Julie Leven.

Violinist Kevin Lawrence, Artistic Director of the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and harpist Rebecca Kauffman visit the Performance Studio to play Camille Saint-Saens' Fantasy.  The GMCMF gets underway this weekend.

Vermont Virtuosi Live

Vermont Virtuosi is a new chamber music group including flutist Laurel Ann Maurer, violist Tatiana Trono and pianist Claire Black.  They give their inaugural concerts this weekend in Montpelier and Burlington.  Music will be by Maurice Durufle, Arthur Foote and a world premiere by Vermont composer David Gunn.  We'll get a preview Thursday morning on VPR Classical.
