Oregon folk singer Lindsay Clark will be the featured performer at The Barrage in Holland, VT on Saturday  August 25th, doors open at 7. To find the Barrage, follow the signs saying "rock and roll".

The Vermont recorder and harp consort Full Circle will be playing at the Fisk Farm in Isle LaMotte Sunday, Aug. 26th from  2 until 4:30 p.m.

Lots of classics from the 60's folk revival, and a big peek at the lineup for the Peacham Acoustic Music Festival next weekend.

This program will air on Sunday August 12th from 7- 10 p.m.

The Peacham Acoustic Music Festival will be happening on Friday and Saturday August 17th and 18th, and will feature Jonathan Edwards, Del Rey, Bob Amos and Catamount Crossing, the Bayley Hazen Boys, Alan Greenleaf, Doug Perkins, and many more.

Cool music to counter the hot and drippy weather we've been enduring, previews of even more upcoming festivals, and some marvelous new local releases!

Village Harmony continues their tour of the northeast with concerts at the Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover on Friday August 10th, at the York St. Meeting House  in Lyndon on Saturday August 11th, and on Sunday afternoon August 12th at the South Hero Congregational Church at 3 p.m.

We welcome August with the very musical Patton family of Bakersfield, bagpipes and bass clarinet duets, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and a meditation on Dylan's song Forever Young!

 This program will air on Sunday July 29th from 7-10 p.m. This week's calendar announcements: The Burlington musical trio Soaked Oats will be hosting a potluck dinner and house concert in Burlington on Saturday August 4th at 191 Locust Terrace. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.

Composer Keane Southard hiked the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail during the summer of 2016. Here, he is pictured in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

Keane Southard spent many of his childhood weekends hiking and camping with his family in New Hampshire and Vermont. From that early age, he imagined one day he would hike the legendary Appalachian Trail.

Southard went on to study composition and theory, and all the while, the idea of hiking the trail and composing a piece about the experience percolated in his mind.

Ray Vega is a senior lecturer at the University of Vermont, where he teaches jazz history, directs three jazz combos and heads up the jazz trumpet studio. He's a trumpeter, percussionist, composer and arranger, who has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz and Latin music. He's now added "radio host" to his busy schedule as he takes over the reins of VPR's Friday Night Jazz.

This Friday night, trumpeter, percussionist, composer, arranger and educator Ray Vega takes over as the new host of Friday Night Jazz.

To introduce you to the man behind the music, we asked Vega to share a few tracks that have played a significant role in his life and provide a peek at what he keeps on regular rotation.

Our 22nd annual Mother's Day special features (of course) a wealth of "mommy" songs, and also plenty of previews of this week's local live performances !
