Dave Keller will be appearing with his band on Friday October 13th at the Brick Church Music Series in Williston at 7 p.m. and at Stone Church Arts in Bellows Falls on Saturday October 14th at 7:30 p.m.

The Juno Orchestra is a new chamber orchestra which will be making its debut in Brattleboro on Saturday, Sept. 30. Founder and conductor Zon Eastes spoke to VPR about the orchestra and its program.

Zon Eastes, a longtime Brattleboro musician, is also now the founder and conductor of a new professional chamber orchestra in the area.

The Juno Orchestra makes its debut Saturday, Sept. 30, in what is also the first public concert in the Brattleboro Music Center's new hall.

We welcome in October with lots of local music, a brand new set of classic Americana, and even a few songs about cats!

As Vermont Public Radio celebrates 40 years of public service, we're looking back at some of the important moments that have made this service what it is today.

When the Beatles arrived in the U.S. in 1964 they were quickly followed by a profusion of other British bands that quickly changed the North American popular music landscape. This week's My Place program presents an hour of those bands that followed the Beatles in the order they appeared on the US  pop music charts. Memorable hits by the Dave Clark 5, the Searchers and the Rolling Stones are among the featured selections.

Each year the Recording Academy - the institution that awards the annual music industry Grammys - designates 25 songs deemed  "of lasting qualitative or historical significance" that are at least 25 years old for inclusion in the Grammy Hall Of Fame. This week's My Place program looks at the 2017 inductees, with memorable recordings by Elvis Presley, Arlo Guthrie and Bonnie Raitt among the selections presented.

Johnny Mercer was one of the foremost lyricists of the 20th century, with a songwriting career that extended from 1930 into the early 1970's. Mercer wrote some 1,400 songs, many of which have endured as cherished standards.

"When you're in a band and especially when you're touring, it's like being in a big marriage." That's the take from guitarist Nick Wood, with the Burlington-based funk-rock band, Gang of Thieves.

Wood and band-mate Tobin Salas, who plays bass guitar, recently sat down with VPR, fresh off the group's Work Together tour.
